According to a study on the impact of sex on stress, as measured by blood pressure levels in stressful situations, sexual intercourse may be one of the best ways to calm your nerves.

Keeping Track

Researchers asked nearly 50 men and women to maintain diaries for two weeks regarding how often they experienced full blown intercourse, masturbation, or sexual activity that excluded intercourse.

Afterward, patients were given tests measuring their stress levels involving public speaking and solving math problems aloud.

Effect Lasts a Week
Those who had intercourse enjoyed the most relief, as their blood pressure levels normalized faster than the other groups. And, that beneficial effect lasted for at least a week. People who had abstained from any kind of sex, however, had the highest blood pressure response to stress.

Seems clear that healthy sexual relationships can be a powerful way to get rid of the jitters before that big business meeting. One possible reason for the effect could be the release of the "pair bonding" hormone oxytocin.

But what do you do if you're not in a committed relationship?

Fortunately, there is hope with effective energy psychology tools. You can attack that stress head-on by learning the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). It's based on the same energy meridians used in traditional acupuncture, just without the needles.

EFT can help you:

* Remove Negative Emotions
* Reduce Food Cravings
* Reduce or Eliminate Pain
* Implement Positive Goals

A combination of tapping on your energy meridians and voicing positive affirmation works to clear any "short-circuits" -- emotional blocks -- from your body's bioenergy system, thus restoring your mind and body's balance, which is essential for optimal physical and mental health.
